ABOUT THE HOLDEN TORANA

The LH Torana was one of the last Holdens to be fully conceived, engineered, designed and built in Australia. Styled by Leo Pruneau, the mid-sized Torana was cleverly designed for four, six and eight cylinder motors. At the top of the tree sat the SL/R 5000, a 5 Litre Aussie sports sedan and the basis of Holden’s Bathurst race spec L34 and A9X models. With the SL/R 5000, Holden offered the Aussie car buyer a terrific mid sized family sports car package with plenty of power, striking exterior colours and a comfortable interior with an impeccable reputation as one of Holden’s most successful rally and circuit racing models.
