The SV5000 was the hottest version yet of the Commodore with an extra 20kW of power.
One prototype manual was built only – a white sedan trimmed as an executive.
The SV5000 starts as a Berlina with the power option. Has flat-top pistons, bigger cam, valves & valve springs, knock sensor, better air intake system, extractors & exhaust, special throttle body, re-calibrated engine management system, exhaust shields, Narrow VL LSD used, Corvette VR-1 twin piston front brakes, 27mm roll bar, 85L fuel tank, overdrive 4th engagement raised to 80kph & higher shift points, revised front FE2 pack, special SV panhard rod to clear exhaust, twin pin stripes, single slot grill with HSV badge, Dunlop Sport D40m2 tyres, sports seats, black momo leather steering wheel, integrated rear head restraints, Calais alarm system, trip computer, electric windows & aerial, central locking & cruise control. Red rocker covers, plenum chambers & front shroud, later cars had HSV badge work.
