Can’t afford $150,000 for a XY GT? This stunning South African XY Fairmont GT is worth considering.

This very presentable GT is in excellent order inside and out. Being a rare factory 4 speed toploader car with it’s 351 4V D block this is a rare Rhino indeed.

The interior is factory black trim car, externally it was factory Diamond blue but was restored in South Africa some years ago and re-painted in Gunston Orange . This car was done to replicate the Gunston racing teams race car but cannot be confirmed as one of the original race cars, as it’s very hard to obtain information on those particular racecar’s history.

The body is very tidy but does have some rust in a couple places, 2 door corners, 1 lower rear quarter (light bubbles) and just starting near rear passegers side windscreen which is very common . Rust repairs have been quoted at less than $1500 to repair properly.

Mechanically this unit is very strong and is great to drive.

Power steering was dealer fitted, not factory-fitted.

This GT never had a vinyl roof from factory which is also quite rare, as most did.

The vehicle still retains it’s original South African service manual and also a owners manual which are included in the sale.

Also included in the Sale are:

4 good doors,

1 brand new front seat trim for the base,

5 original South African 6 inch rims.

All necessary Importation documentation will be supplied.

In addition everything works on the dash and even the rim-blow horn is functional.

This particular car was featured in issue 10 of the Aussie Muscle Cars Magazine and also featured in Unique Cars about 6 months ago in an article with the SA Monaro’s .
