1979 HDT VB Commodore (Peter Brock's Prototype)
Withdrawn
SoldHere’s an interesting car for the ASTUTE COLLECTOR, as there can only be one number 1!
This Classic HDT has had an interesting history and has featured in many magazines and newspapers. Build #001 has also won a few coveted trophies at various events like top 10 at the HSV Nationals!
Originally started life as a 4.2 Litre SL Commodore in May 1979, Brock then worked his “magic” and turned it into the Prototype you see before you now.
The motor was up-specked to 5.0 litre with larger valves and received modified distributor and carburettor.
The mods didn’t stop there as a body kit followed and German Irschmer wheels were added as well as a special paint-job to complete the package.
The car in recent times is now a restored car and is as follows:
Brand new old stock replacement panels were used
High quality paint-job
Mechanically refreshed
Original MOMO steering wheel with “001” noted
Period correct radio cassette
Special equaliser
4 speaker sound system
New carpet
Trim as new
Original Spare wheel and Uniroyal tyre (as new)
Holden Log book etc, etc.
Many magazine articles
Trophies won
HDT Showplates
Glovebox autographed by John Harvey
