Muscle Car Stables is proud to present for sale this beautifully presented HDT VL SS Group A, Build # 254, which also happens to be a Plus Pack that makes it even

more desirable!

Fast becoming an extremely sought after collectable Australian muscle car between enthusiasts and collectors, this particular vehicle is no exception.

Built in November 1986 and being HDT build number 254/500 is all matching numbers, this is an excellent and original example of an Australian motoring icon.

Was delivered new by Wagga Motors Pty Ltd back in 1986, the vehicle comes with a period correct logbook, Radio Instruction leaflet,

HDT Authenticity Certificate, as is one of only 173 Plus Pack models with Peter Brock’s polariser fitted.

Covering just 81,800kms over it’s 34 year lifespan, this is a low kilometre example that really stands out in crowd.

The Polarizer is mounted to the RHS firewall. As mentioned in the original brochure- “The polarizer utilises the energy generated by the vehicle. It acts on the components of the car, resulting in a quieter, smoother vehicle with more stable handling.

The Plus Pack also included an electric fuel pump, regulator and filter, a cylinder head modification for improved cooling, revised front and rear springs, front anti roll bar, strut mounts, as well as revised front suspension geometry.

The Group A modifications to the standard VL comprised a redesigned radiator grille, colour keyed bumpers, Racing specification spoilers on the front and on the boot lid and a small grooved Induction scoop attached to the bonnet with a new cold air induction set up.

Build No. 254 is running it’s original matching numbers big valve 4.9 litre LV2 V8 and the robust Borg Warner T5 5 speed gearbox through to the 4 pinion Borg Warner 3.08:1 LSD diff.

Fitted are the correct Group A spec extractors with the first join just 2 inches after the cylinder head flange to take advantage of the Group A rules of the day allowing for an open exhaust after the first join.

The 16 x 7 MOMO Wheels are in great condition and the Spare wheels still retains it’s Original Bridgestone RE71 Potenza
