LX Torana- Built out of passion!
The builder / owner went to a tremendous amount of effort to replicate his beloved A9X to exacting standards!
The car is as follows:
Purpose built to reflect A9X Heritage.
11/77 Opaline Blue Rust free shell, Factory compliance with 4 spd, Full instrumentation and black interior.
Was an original Senior owned from new- basic Torana just as the A9X shells with deleted chrome exterior moulds.
The full A9X conversion took place over 6 years with a very high to detail focus on making it as close to correct spec as possible.
Was built beside an original un-restored genuine A9X, thus rendering the high-detailed copy successful.
Outstanding representation of the A9X Heritage.
Under-carriage paint dob marks included to enhance the perfect reflection.
Correct front suspension components with proper 3 rd arm hooks, solid mounted steering rack, solid block bump stops, upper/ lower new old stock A9X arms, correct callipers with correct brake-line feed position.
3.08 LSD 10 Bolt diff with repositioned lower arm boxes as per original.
Original NEW OLD STOCK rear flares un-used prior to the project.
All body flare cuts to correct procedure as per 1977 Broadcast.
Retains original carpet, console, gear shift, seat belts, Radio and the vehicles original full factory sports instrumentation.
Bonnet scope and air hole to exact location as well as rear and front spoilers.
Engine detail has emission plumbing, wiring and paint marks and stamps to spec.
Brake booster, master cylinder and brake lines all to original data and position.
The undercarriage was painted in exact black and car colour spray pattern as original GMH A9X with all body deadener removed and metal smoothed prior painting.
The simple little special other thing is, the car has it’s original boot rubber mat in great condition of which reflects the care that was given whilst owned by the original senior gentleman prior restoration/conversion.
OPALINE A9X colour schemes are rare.
The current owner does own the original OPALINE A9X as well- which is also for sale with us!
Finding the 11/77 matching colour standard LX gave him the inspiration to build one from scratch.
He always felt that the A9X would have been even more special if it had the followed through with the L34 Spec motor.
He did this and also included the factory 4 pipe flanged extractors.
Car gives off a great A9X Bathurst atmosphere being in this form.
Very special car and would fit in with one of the top highly detailed examples.
Took about 2500 hrs over 6-8 years.
Travelled 3,000 klm since completed march 2014.
